Team Building Cooked up a Storm!!!

On the evening of June 24th, Robin Pearson-Stanley hosted her 2nd annual (we hope) Team Building event. It was a blast. Partners created courses to a meal, and then we sat down at an elegantly set table and shared our cuisine. Not only was it FUN, but the food was DELICIOUS!!! Participants also received a parting gift of cookie cutters in the shape of a star and a PEO flower, as well as snacks.
The winners this year were Ann Mauzy and Dawn Lehr with their "Chocolate Baklava" dessert. What fun!!!!

My, oh my, oh MAY!!!

This months's devotion: 1Corinthians 15:55 and John 14:1-4

We held a lovely memorial service at our May meeting for Lee Kavan.
We have decided to divide funds for two donations in Lee's name.
We will use all of the donations sent to us from Texas from Lee's family and friends to send to Cottey College in her name.
We will use our chapter member donations to create the Lee Kavan Memorial Scholarship to be used to send girls to the summer programs at Cottey each summer. We feel these are two great ways we can honor Lee and her devotion to women, education, and the foundations of P.E.O.

Three openings on Robin's team building RSVP to Robin or Ginger

We must also remember to pray for Susan Everett and her husband, Wayne.
Lastly, we are grieving the loss of our dear sister, Lee Kavan, who joined the Lord on Sunday, April 5th.

Spring Forward!!!

At our last meeting, we had much to celebrate.
Gail Martin led her final meeting as President of Chapter MK.
Thank you Gail for your time and service and for being such
a great leader. Your spirit and enthusiasm brought many great things
to our chapter.
We did have the installation of the following new officers for 2009:
President: Susan Holstedt
Vice President: Gail Martin
Secretary: Angie Perkins
Guard: Mary Lou McBroom
Correspondence: Ann Mauzy

We also learned that Mary Lou's student, Lily, is back at school and doing very well. Mary Lou's daughter, Elizabeth, had another surgery in Texas, and is recovering. Ginger's family has had a trying month with her daugher-in-law's heart condition (but she is now on a transplant list!), her dauther, Rachel, had knee surgery, and her father is also having some health issues.
Susan's daughter has received a full ride scholarship at Buena Vista College in Iowa.
We have much to be thankful for and much to look forward to as we "spring" forward in Chapter MK.
