January Events

Warm Wishes to you all during this snowy time!!!!! We need some immediate responses....
Our January meeting is tomorrow at the home of Ann Mauzy with Dawn Lehr as co-hostess. If you plan on attending, please shoot me an email.
Also, we had planned a social on Jan. 16th at Starbuck's in Gladstone...BUT we just received a Founder's Day invite, which had made its way to Susan in Texas before coming to Gail. Founder's Day is Jan. 16th at 9am in Nashua (N. Oak north of 152 Hiway).
We need to decide on meeting at Starbuck's at 8:15 and going to Founder's Day, or rescheduling Starbuck's and meeting at Founder's Day.
Please email me and let me know if you would like to attend Founder's Day by Friday, Jan. 8th so we can purchase tickets. It's always a great way to reconnect and get inspiration from fellow PEO chapters, so try to make this event. We have so much to celebrate in MK, we should make attendance a chance to shine our light!!!
Hope to hear from you soon....angietolle@hotmail.com

Scripture: Mark 11:22-26
We were honored to have Breanna Engeman at our meeting. She is the young lady whom we sponsered at Cottey Dance Camp this summer. Breanna came and shared her experiences and future plans to attend college in California, and to continue this year to lead her flag corps with special needs students. What a remarkable young lady..and so gracious!!!
We have many sisters in need:
Mitzi Jaskinia is undergoing radiation treatment
Nancy Wilson's father's cancer has returned
Teresa Grint's son in law is undergoing chemo to fight cancer, and their first child is due this month. Visit: www.caringbridge.org/visit/adambenlon

August Meeting

This month's Scripture is Samuel 1:20-24.

Our August meeting was held on Aug. 6th at the home of Mary Lou McBroom. One topic of great discussion is raising our chapter dues. In an effort to keep adequate funds available, we need more participation in fundraising. Because we have now established the Lee Kavan Memorial Scholarship for the Cottey College Summer Programs, we must have funding of over $400 available each spring, in addition to funds for projects throughout each year. Because participation in fundraising seems to be low, we are asking for $25 in donation from those members who did not contribute items to the garage sale fundraiser in June.
On a postivie note, we have raised over $100 in loose change since May, and we raised over $175 thanks to Becky Niemeier and her Mary Kay fundraiser.
Our October meeting will be on WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 7th, with no meeting on Thursday, October 8th. This is because we will have our state officer's visit. Officers will meet at 4pm, with the regular meeting to begin at 7pm. We will perform Initiation Exemplification, so officers ....get memorized!!!
